Unfortunately, aftershot pro 3 is a bit buggy and there have been several reported issues with it and people who use Canikon and Sony reporting issues loading images.(this is from the corel forum). I know this because I currently have both programs as well as Paint Shop Pro Ultimate X8 and X9 loaded on my computer.
That being said Aftershot Pro 2 & 3 support files from my K-3 (approximately the same age as your K-S1) and have added support for the K-1 within the meta data files in aftershot pro 3. I believe you may be thinking of the original aftershot pro.
